Literature Text

Today was one of the days where the sky was as blue as the ocean and there were no clouds in the sky.

On a day like this, if the wind was right, it was a day for dragons. Not the real kind of fire breathers, these dragons were attached to strings.

Yet that doesn't stop them from flying in the sky and riding the winds. Their body can be simple or complex.

Like a rectangle or long and snake like, or even just a big square. They come in many colors too.

Flaming orange, red or green. Even so blue that you can't see them against the sky of it wasn't for their tails.

The tail could be small, colorful ribbons tied to a string, or even log ribbons that danced around freely in the breeze.

During a day like this there were many dragons in the air. Everyone who owned a dragon would let it free to play with the wind.

The dragons are a marvelous sight and people young and old gather beneath them. Watching, talking, laughing.

Children love the dragons the most. But they can never fly them, for if the winds are to strong the child might be taken away.

A wind stolen child will never be seen again. But do not despair, it is said that a child taken by a dragon becomes a real dragon.

They grow wings, teeth, claws and scales. They grow beautiful and strong, and they feel no sorrow.
Because dragons love the sky and wind beneath their wings.
In Norwegian the word for kite and dragon is the same, and I really wanted to see how it works out in English. The theme is still kites, just freely interpreted.

I like Kites and Dragons, so to me, this was a beautiful piece. Wonderfully descriptive.
